Nablus Stream Project

Project Summary

The Nablus Stream was receiving approximately 11,000 cubic meters of poor-quality wastewater per day, containing raw sewage, high calcium loading and visible algae. Even after seven days of conventional wastewater treatment, the released water remained highly turbid and unsuitable for discharge.

Clearflow Gel Flocculant and Treated Jute were installed directly in the stream to improve water quality and promote solids separation. Within three days, the water was visibly clearer, sedimentation was occurring over the existing algae, and the improvement in clarity remained evident at least 100 metres downstream.

Key Results

Key results information

  • Treated approximately 11,000 m³ of wastewater per day.
  • Produced a visible improvement in water clarity within three days.
  • Promoted sedimentation of suspended material over the algae-covered stream bed.
  • Maintained improved water clarity at least 100 meters downstream.
  • Demonstrated an effective in-stream treatment approach for severely impaired wastewater
