City of Innisfil Project

Project Summary

A newly constructed subdivision in the Town of Innisfil required an effective treatment solution to reduce total suspended solids (TSS) in stormwater before it was discharged to a downstream lake. Protecting water quality and aquatic life was a central requirement for the project.

Clearflow Gel Block Flocculants were installed directly within the subdivision’s existing stormwater pipes. The passive treatment system was positioned strategically upstream of the water-management ponds, allowing stormwater to be treated as it flowed through the drainage network. Under normal and medium-flow conditions, sediment accumulated approximately 50 metres below the treatment system, accelerating flocculation and colloidal settling before discharge.

Key Results

  • Reduced total suspended solids in subdivision stormwater.
  • Integrated treatment into the existing stormwater infrastructure without a separate mechanical dosing system.
  • Provided passive treatment during normal and medium-flow conditions.
  • Accelerated flocculation and settling of fine colloidal material.
  • Helped protect the downstream lake and aquatic environment.
